Thi-Minh-Tam Ta is a specialist in psychiatry, psychotherapy, and trauma therapy at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin. Since 2010, she has been a co-founder of the first specialized outpatient clinic for Vietnamese migrants in Europe at the Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, CBF. Since 2012, she has been a co-founder of a psychosocial network for Vietnamese migrants with the aim of improving psychiatric care and access for this group in Germany. Thi-Minh-Tam Ta is the co-leader of several projects under the Program Clinic Partnerships, university cooperation programs, and various research projects between Charité Medical University and Hanoi Medical University (HMU) and the National Institute of Mental Health. The goals of these programs include strengthening, modernizing, digitizing, and increasing the personnel capacity of the psychiatric care system in Vietnam, using a participatory approach synergistically. In 2022, she was awarded an honorary professorship in psychiatry by Hanoi Medical University for her ongoing commitment, and since 2023, she has been the deputy chair of the Vietnamese Psychotherapeutic Association. Thi-Minh-Tam Ta's scientific interests include the mental health of women, the mental health of migrants and refugees, transcultural psychiatry and psychotherapy, intercultural competence training, global mental health, culture- and language-adapted psychotherapy, as well as emotion- and affect-oriented psychotherapy.
